Charles E. Underwood

Charles E. Underwood, 64, New Salisbury, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at his home.
A native of Louisville, born Aug. 8, 1938, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Edith Marshall Underwood.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford, and a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and Georgetown Optimist Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Nancy Fuchs; three sons, Charles W. Underwood Jr. of Salem, James Underwood of Columbus, Ohio, and Andy Underwood of Columbia, S.C.; three daughters, Kathy Carpineto, Nancy Williamson and Becky Cartnel, all of Columbia, S.C.; and 15 grandchildren.
Prayer service: Sunday, March 23, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Monday, March 24, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial in Horners Chapel Cemetery near Palmyra.
Officiant: Father Bonaventure Knaebel.
Pallbearers: Charles Underwood III, Jeremy Underwood, Kyle Johnson, Steve Carpineto, Christopher Phillips and Kevin Jones.
Honorary pallbearer: Eugene Hill.
