Finley Ash, 87, Louisville, died Monday, March 3, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
He was a native of Munfordville, Ky., a retired employee of American Air Filter, a disabled Army veteran of World War II having served in the North Africa, Italy and European Campaigns, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was a member of VFW Iroquois Hill Post 6182 and Lee’s Lane Baptist Church for more than 50 years. He was chosen as “Volunteer of the Year” in 1985 in Elizabethtown, Ky.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherron Johnson of Glasgow, Ky.; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 5, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Hardy Funeral Home in Shively, Ky.
Funeral: Thursday, March 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Upton (Ky.) Cemetery.
