IHSAA boys pairings released

A field of 384 teams will begin play at 64 sectional sites March 4th in the 2003 IHSAA Boys Basketball Tournament Series, which is in its 93rd year. Sectional play will continue on March 7th and 8th, with regional play scheduled for March 15th, semi-state action on March 22nd and the state finals at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday, March 29th.
In six team fields, there will be two first-round games on next Tuesday, beginning at 6 p.m., two semi-final games next Friday beginning at 6 p.m. and the championship on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
At 3A Madison: North Harrison vs. Silver Creek, Corydon Central vs. Scottsburg, game one vs. game two winners, Providence vs. Madison (bye game), championship.
At 2A Southridge: Perry Central vs. Southridge, Forest Park vs. South Spencer, game one vs. game two winners, Tell City vs. Crawford County (bye game), championship.
At 1A Orleans: West Washington vs. Lanesville, Medora vs. South Central (Elizabeth), game one vs. game two winners, Orleans vs. Springs Valley (bye game), championship.
Tickets on sale this week
Season sectional tickets will be on sale this week at area high schools, as will semi-state tickets for North Harrison and South Central.
The cost is $9 for a sectional season ticket (non-reserved seating) that includes all three sessions. Tickets can also purchased at the door for $5 for each individual session.
At Corydon Central, tickets will go on sale beginning today and are on sale in the athletic director’s office during school hours. They will also be sold between games at Friday night’s season finale against South Central.
North Harrison is selling tickets to the boys sectional and girls semi-state during regular school hours, as well as using the following evening schedule: at tonight’s pep session for the Lady Cats and Lady Rebels, beginning at 6 p.m., and Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets will continue to be on sale until Friday at noon for the semi-state tickets and until Tuesday at noon for the sectional tickets.
South Central will sell semi-state and sectional tickets during school hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) as well as at the pep session tonight.
Lanesville will sell sectional tickets Thursday, Friday, Monday from 8-4 and then from 8 to noon on Tuesday.
