Amzie Neafus

Amzie Neafus, 84, Corydon, died Monday, Feb. 24, at Walnut Creek at Corydon.
Born Jan. 10, 1919, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary Myrtle Byrne Neafus.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and worked as a horse trainer. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and Kentucky Harness Horseman’s Association, and was a Presbyterian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ruby L. Windell.
Survivors include a son, Amzie (Dubby) Neafus Jr. of Corydon; a daughter, Rueann Shewmaker of Central; two sisters, Peggy Taylor of Corydon and Irma Reister of New Albany; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Visitation: Wednesday, Feb. 26, after 8 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Bobby, Gary and Michael Neafus, Jay Lewis Reace, David Shaffer and D.J. Shewmaker.
Honorary pallbearer: Phil Curts.
