IHSAA announces girls sectional pairings

A field of 381 teams will begin play at 64 sectional sites next Tuesday night in the 2003 IHSAA Girls Basketball Tournament Series.
Sectional play will continue on February 14th and 15th, with regional play scheduled for February 22nd, semi-state action on March 1st and the state finals at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday, March 8th.
In 6-team fields, there will be two first-round games on Tuesday beginning at 6 p.m., two semifinals on Friday beginning at 6 p.m., and the championship on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Session tickets are $5 each and a season ticket is $9.
Throughout the tournament, the second-named team will be the home team.

Class 3A Sectional 29 at Scottsburg – Corydon vs. North Harrison, Providence vs. Scottsburg, winner Game 1 vs. winner Game 2, Silver Creek vs. Madison, championship; Class 2A Sectional 47 at Forest Park – Southridge vs. Perry Central, South Spencer vs. Forest Park, winner Game 1 vs. winner Game 2, Tell City vs. Crawford County, championship; Class 1A Sectional 63 at West Washington – South Central vs. Orleans, Springs Valley vs. Lanesville, winner Game 1 vs. winner Game 2, West Washington vs. Medora, championship.
Ticket information: Corydon Central – on sale today beginning at 8 a.m., contact the athletic office for more information; North Harrison – on sale at the North Harrison-Eastern girls game on Thursday night; South Central – general admission tickets on sale beginning Thursday on the following schedule: Feb. 6 from 8 to 3, immediate families of team, cheerleaders and dance team, Feb. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. all-sports ticket holders, season ticket holders and family pass holders (one ticket for each ticket holder), Feb. 7 from 8 to noon, students starting from 12th grade down to 7th grade, Feb. 7 from noon to 4, complimentary pass holders, senior citizen pass holders, Feb. 10 all remaining tickets go on sale; Lanesville – contact athletic director’s office.
