Mary C. Waters

Mary C. Waters, 77, Corydon, died Friday, Dec. 20, at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany.
A native of Harrison County, born Feb. 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Monnie Ferree Cooper.
She was an answering service attendant and a custodian for Harrison County REMC, a self-employed baker, a past Harrison County 4-H leader for 30 years, and a member of VFW Post 2950 Ladies Auxiliary in Corydon and Corydon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, L.C. Waters of Muncie; two daughters, Phyllis Angela Waters-Poindexter of Corydon and Linda K. Waters-Froman of English; a brother, Lewis Cooper of Rockport; a sister, Joyce Cooper-Krause of Jeffersonville; and 16 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Waters, and a daughter, Rebecca White.
There was a VFW Ladies Auxiliary Service on Sunday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, Dec. 23, at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Clyde Windell, Eddie Rosenbarger, Paul Beckort, Henry Becht, David Lett and Bob Fried.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or WHAS Crusade for Children.
