Alfred F. Simon

Alfred F. Simon, 93, Blue River Township, died Thursday, Dec. 12, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
A native of Frenchtown, born May 11, 1909, he was the son of the late Celestian and Mary Bye Simon.
He was a Navy veteran, a retired employee of Henry Vogt Machine Co. in Louisville, a farmer and a member of Blue River Masonic Lodge 457 F&AM in Fredericksburg.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Elliot Simon, his stepfather, Theodore Henriott, a brother, Henry Simon, and two sisters, Bernadine Radcliffe and Lorena Wleklinski.
Survivors include his wife, the former Kathryn Sarles; a son, Stanley A. Simon of Depauw; a brother, Norman Henriott of Portland, Ore., two sisters, Alice Reeves of New Albany and Agnes Meredith of Louisville; four step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.
Masonic rites: Sunday, Dec. 15, at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Sunday, Dec. 15, at the funeral home with burial in Blue River Church of Christ Cemetery in Depauw.
Officiant: The Rev. Ethan Maple.
Pallbearers: Phillip Lockhart, Neal and Kevin Meredith, Dan Reeves, and Bryan and Billy Stephenson.
