John L. Ferguson

John L. Ferguson, 76, Jeffersonville, died Saturday, Nov. 23, at Clark County Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
He was a native of Corydon, born May 30, 1926. He was a retired chief petty officer who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, and a member of First Baptist Church in Jeffersonville.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Anne Cole Thompson; a son, John S. Ferguson of Corydon; a daughter, Debbie Yates of Corydon; four stepdaughters, Elizabeth A. Vissing and Jana Thompson, both of Jeffersonville, Brenda Hill of Decatur, Ariz., and Lisa McCratic of Canton, Ga.; two brothers, Carl Allen Ferguson of Lanesville and Paul Ferguson of Alvin, Texas; two sisters, Shirley Oechsler of Orange Park, Fla., and Ruth Aldin of Corydon; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren
Funeral: Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Coots Funeral Home in Jeffersonville with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
