Barbara J. Messenger

Barbara Jean Messenger, 54, New Albany, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of New Albany, born July 13, 1948, she was the daughter of Ruth Cox Wilson of New Albany and the late James O. (Red) Wilson. She was a retired clerk for the U.S. Census Bureau.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Messenger, and a sister, Joyce Wassing.
Survivors besides her mother include a daughter, Tamara S. Morgan of English; four brothers, Larry L. and Stephen M. Wilson, both of New Albany, James W. Wilson of Corydon and William A. Wilson of Louisville; two sisters, Judith K. Gibson and Carol S. Siltz, both of Lanesville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, Nov. 16, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home in New Albany with burial in Graceland Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
