Dr. Merle S. Hendrix

Dr. Merle Sue Phillips Hendrix, 59, Floyds Knobs, died Sunday, Nov. 10, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Zebulon, Ky., born Feb. 8, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Delcie Maynard Phillips.
She was a retired dentist at Hazelwood Center in Louisville, and a graduate of Pikeville College and the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristie Hankins of Floyds Knobs; her significant other, Bill Thompson; two brothers, Douglas Phillips of Lexington, Ky., and Larry Phillips of Georgetown.
Visitation: Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
A celebration of life: Thursday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in the Edwardsville Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Lennie Lawrence.
Pallbearers: Jim Cox, Steve Phillips, Billy Thompson, Mark Phillips, John Phillips and Alex Phillips.
