Wilbur R. Dean

Wilbur Ray Dean, 88, Corydon, died early Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Robert E. Lee Care Center in New Albany.
A native of Mauckport, born Oct. 25, 1914, he was the son of the late Cordie L. and Goldie Kishline Dean.
He was a retired owner and operator of a general store in Central and Dean’s Water Service in Corydon. He was a school bus driver, and a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at Mauckport and the Eagles Lodge in Corydon.
Survivors include his wife, the former Flora Watkins; two daughters, Darlene Henninger of Corydon and Betty Jo Jenkins of Central; two stepsons, James and Joey Gillespie, both of Louisville; a stepdaughter, Brenda Kimes of Lanesville; a sister, Ruby Rooksby of Corydon; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Eagles rites were held Monday, Nov. 4, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Allen Phillips.
Soloist: The Rev. Richard Ryan.
Pallbearers: Josh Gillispie, Steve Brading, Josh Dean, Tommy Jo Fink, Chris Barrett, Jimmy Gillispie, Roger Jenkins and Deno Dean.
Honorary pallbearers: Stanley Coffman, Larry Breeden, Vernon Nossett, Joey Gillespie and Kelso Dean.
