Margaret Ethel Cook Sexton, 91, New Salisbury, formerly of Athens, Ala., died Monday, Oct. 21, in New Salisbury at the home of one of her daughters.
She retired from the Athens Police Dept., and was a former owner of Cook Grocery. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Otis Cook Sr. and W.R. Sexton, three sons, James, Earl and Otis Jr. Cook, and a daughter, Margaret Williams.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Frances (Peg) Edelbrock and Betty Burnett, both of New Salisbury, Julia Humphreys of Clinton, Ky., and Nancy Mader of LaMirada, Calif.; two sons, Billy and George Cook, both of Athens; 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Friday, Oct. 25, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens with burial in Athens City Cemetery.
Officiant: Dr. Steven Williams.
Pallbearers: Michael Bastin, Scott Cook, Jim Cook, Greg Cook, Edwin Cook and Butch Cook.
