John K. Sampson
John K. Sampson, 76, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
He retired from Local 40 Boilermakers Union, and was a blacksmith, an antique dealer, a metal artisan, a Marine Crops veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and a member of VFW Post 3281 and Advent Christian Church, both in New Albany.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy Smith; four daughters, Cynthia Walts and Suzanne Canter, both of New Albany, Marcia St. John of Burleson, Texas, and Lisa Summers of Corydon; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, Oct. 5, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home in New Albany with burial in Graceland Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Advent Christian Church.
