Bobby Lee Sturgeon, 69, Corydon, died at 9:07 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Oriole, born April 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Samuel and Hazel Bullington Sturgeon.
He was a welder at General Electric Co. in Louisville for more than 32 years, an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6160 in English.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, the former Delsie Haines; a son, Mark Sturgeon of Orleans; six daughters, Debbie Oxley of Eckerty, Terry Andrey of Birdseye, Lisa and Barbara Sturgeon, both of English, Deanna Etienne of Derby and April Chanley of Corydon; a brother, Matthew Sturgeon of Princeton; two sisters, Freida Siltz of Derby and Juanita Knieriem of Oriole; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, Oct. 9, after 9 a.m. (slow time) at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City.
Funeral: Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. (slow time) at the funeral home with burial in Jefferies Cemetery near Oriole.
Officiant: The Rev. Gilbert H. Hubbard.
Military rites will be performed at the gravesite by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6160.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Perry County Memorial Hospital Home Health and Hospice.
