Merrel D. Mills

Merrel Duwaine Mills, 79, Brooksville, Fla., formerly of English, died Thursday, Sept. 5, at his home.
A native of Kokomo, born April 17, 1923, he was the son of the late Pearl Edward and Vera P. Scott Mills.
He was a retired construction superintendent for Precon Tanks in Gainesville, Fla., a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Brooksville.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Deford and Doreatha Mundy, and two brothers, Gordon and Donavan Mills.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, the former Kathryn Richardson; two daughters, Ann Reusch of Brooksville and Brenda Arnold of English, formerly of Corydon; four sisters, Helen Purcell of Indianapolis, Vivian Berkshire of Royal Center, Virginia Burris of Campbell, Texas, and Naomi Frogge of Greenville, Texas; and two grandsons.
Funeral: Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Denbo Funeral Home in English with burial in El Bethel Cemetery.
Vocalists: Echos of Faith and Trish Holzbog. Organist: Bernice Stone.
Pallbearers: Wayne Berkshire, Jimmy Fraze, Roy Holzbog, Rob Arnold, David Wellman and Jerry Montgomery.
