Andrew Day Jr.

Andrew Day Jr., 84, Vincennes, died Friday, Aug. 30, at Crestview Nursing Home in Vincennes.
A native of Vincennes, born May 9, 1918, he was the son of the late Andrew Sr. and Mary Shriner Day.
He was a member of Vincennes Elks BPOE 291, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Vincennes Rotary Club, where he received a Paul Harris Fellow award, and Old Cathedral Catholic Church. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He was employed in sales at Vincennes Steel and was active with the Boy Scouts. He was a board member for the Salvation Army, and helped organize the Vincennes Rendezvous and received the Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous Presidents award. He was a Civitan Citizen of the Year in 1990, and received the Brute Society Award.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty Tredez.
Survivors include a son, Andrew Day III of Corydon; and two brothers, Joe Day of Vincennes and Jim Day of Naples, Fla.
A Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Vincennes.
