John W. Helbig

John William (Bill) Helbig, 74, Floyds Knobs, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
He was a native of Floyds Knobs, a former employee of Denton and Voyles Paving Co., and a retired employee of Gohmann Asphalt and Construction. He was a member of St. Joe Hill Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Helbig.
Survivors include his wife, Zelona (Onie) Helbig; two sons, Larry and Jerry Helbig, both of Clarksville; four daughters, Joyce Hagest of Borden, Donna Helbig of Sellersburg, Susan Troncin of New Albany and Judy Bearden of Clarksville; a stepson, Dale Nichols of Palmyra; a stepdaughter, Jeannie Wingler of Salem; two brothers, Robert Helbig of Clarksville and Ronald Helbig of Floyds Knobs; two sisters, Doris Helbig of New Albany and Linda Helbig of Floyds Knobs; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, Aug. 17, at St. Joe Hill Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Arrangements: Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany.
