Herbert Dunlap
U.S. Navy (Ret.) Chief Petty Officer Herbert Allen Dunlap, 81, Jacksonville, Fla., died Thursday, June 13.
A native of Cairo, Ill., born Sept. 6, 1920, he was the son of the late John Stewart and Ruth Burton Dunlap.
He was a member of Fleet Reserve Post 290 in Mayport, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Elise West, and a sister, Anita Callahan.
Survivors include five brothers, Kenneth Dunlap of Gilbertsville, Ky., Byron Dunlap of Spanaway, Wash., Gayle Dunlap of Jeffersonville, David Dunlap of Louisville and Michael Dunlap of New Albany; four sisters, Lois Glindmeyer of Schenectady, N.Y., Glenna Mehling and Janice Dunlap, both of Corydon, and Judith Shaw of Louisville; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Funeral: Monday, June 17, in the chapel at Arlington Park Cemetery where he was buried. Arlington Park Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Fla., handled the arrangements.
Military rites were performed at the gravesite.
