Richard W. Christley

Richard Wade Christley, 59, Corydon, died Saturday, June 1, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of New Albany, born June 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Dr. William Wade and Ola Margaret Hudson Christley.
He was a former foreman for Kimball’s in Borden, a plant manager for Keller Manufacturing Co. in Corydon and New Salisbury, a member and former commander of VFW Post 2950, and a member of American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles and St. Joseph Catholic Church, all in Corydon. He was also a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Christley.
Survivors include a son, William Wade Christley of Orleans; a daughter, Robin Shannon of Corydon; a stepson, Donald Conrad of Corydon; two stepdaughters, Patty Fessel of Corydon and Loretta Powers of Marietta, Ohio; a brother, William J. Christley of Georgetown; a sister, Jeane King of Lizton; and 11 grandchildren.
A rosary was prayed Monday, June 3, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
The funeral was Tuesday, June 4, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. VFW Post 2950 performed military rites at the gravesite.
The family suggests memorial gifts to VFW Post 2950.
Pallbearers were VFW Post 2950 members.
