Oliver Brewer

Oliver Brewer, 75, Corydon, formerly of Powell County, Ky., died Sunday, May 26, at 1:22 a.m. at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Powell County, born July 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Perry and Alba McKenzie Brewer.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired in 1964 from the military after 21 years.
Survivors include his wife, the former Bonnie Prater; two stepsons, Grandell Watkins of Jeffersonville, Ky., and Sterling Watkins of Corydon; two sisters, Leola Amburgey of Franklin, Ohio, and Mary L. Empey of Corydon; two half brothers, Sonny Phipps of Greenbay, Wis., and Benny Phipps of Brandenburg; seven stepgrandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Wednesday, May 29, at Denniston House of Prayer with burial in Prater Cemetery in Denniston, Ky. Pastor Norma Seabolt officiated. Herald and Stewart and Halsey Funeral Home in West Liberty, Ky., handled the arrangements.
Military rites were performed at the gravesite by Morgan Co. DAV.
Pallbearers were Tim Prater, Raymond Young, Walter Barnett, Stevie Prater, Dave Jones, Ricky Prater, Odean Cockerham and Bill Seabolt.
