Mary M. Ashton

Mary Madeleine Ashton, 82, Corydon, died Sunday, June 2, at Indian Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
A native of Chicago, born April 30, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Charlie E. and Lillian M. Smith Fisher.
She was a former traveling teacher for operators at AT&T, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Ashton; five sons, Joseph C. Raymond of Plymouth, Tenn., Michael D. Raymond of Albuquerque, N.M., John P. Raymond of Rio Rancho, N.M., Bernard F. Raymond of Taylor Ranch, N.M., and John F. Ashton of Corydon; four daughters, Joanne Rickard of Rio Rancho, N.M., Margaret Hannaford Sante Fe, N.M., Mary B. Trigo of San Pedro, Calif., and Ann F. Monahan of Petersburg; a sister, Mercedes Connell of Chicago; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 5, after 8 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. A rosary was prayed Tuesday, June 4, during visitation.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Louis Manna will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Bernard, John, Michael and Michael Lee Raymond, John Ashton and Michael Monahan.
The family suggests memorial gifts to her church.
