Clarence E. Crecelius

Clarence E. Crecelius, 89, Corydon, died Wednesday, May 29, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Harrison County, born April 19, 1913, he was the son of the late Doc Strouse and Minnie Rainbolt Crecelius.
He was a retired employee of Keller Manufacturing Co. in Corydon, where he worked 43 years, and a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Corydon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lydia E. Cunningham, and five sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Albert Crecelius of Corydon and Donald Crecelius of Noblesville; five daughters, Virginia L. Pate and Daisy I. Rutherford, both of Corydon, Barbara Rutherford of Argyle, Texas, Leola Nichols of New Salisbury and Margaret Patterson of Shelby Township, Mich.; six sisters, Rosa Cunningham of New Salisbury, Fern McKim and Alma Harbeson, both of Corydon, Hazel Wiseman of Indianapolis, Goldia Bowles of Bloomington and Ruby Davis of Jeffersonville; 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Monday, June 3, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Heidelberg Cemetery. Pastor Jerry Cantrell officiated. Betty Monroe was organist. Geraldine Baxley-Watson was vocalist.
Pallbearers were Rick Crecelius, Eddie and Gary Rutherford, Matthew Nichols, Edward Patterson and Jon Pate.
The family suggests memorial gifts to his church or to the American Heart Association.
