Sheldon Bowman

Sheldon E. Bowman, 77, Milltown, died at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Riddle, born Sept. 18, 1924, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Gladys Sturgeon Bowman.
He was a retired employee of General Electric in Louisville, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Milltown Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, the former Hilda Sarles; four sons, Michael E. Bowman of Gallatin, Tenn., Lynn E. Bowman of Edinburgh, Donald L. Bowman of Marengo and Timothy A. Bowman of Williston, S.C.; four sisters, Wilma Allen and June Summers, both of Milltown, Norma Jean Jenkins of Marengo and Lorene Batman of Seymour; 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Tuesday, May 28, at Milltown Christian Church with burial in the Milltown Cemetery. Brothers Jim McDonald and Steve Rodgers officiated. Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown handled the arrangements.
