Sallie P. Smith

Sallie P. Smith, 82, died Sunday, May 26, at Harrison Health & Rehabilitation Centre in Corydon.
A native of Nelson County, Ky., born Oct. 5, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Hattie Ray Davis.
She was a member of the Alice Perry Women’s Missionary Society at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Corydon, where she also served as a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her husband, Charles T. Smith; a son, Fred Webster Smith of Ocala, Fla.; a daughter, Rhonda Smith-Ajiboye of Indianapolis; a sister, Bernice Lydian of Bardstown, Ky., and three grandchildren.
The funeral was Wednesday, May 29, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon. The Rev. Allen McClendon officiated.
Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon handled the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Reggie, Terry and Denny Baker, Robert Robertson Jr., Eddie Wallace Jr. and Andy Scott. Honorary pallbearers were Gil Taylor and Dixon Rickman.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the St. Paul A.M.E. Church Building Fund.
