Charles Vernia

Charles Clark Vernia, 78, Floyds Knobs, died Tuesday, April 2, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
He was a retired self-employed independent insurance agent, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member American Legion Post 42, AARP, Voiture 40 & 8, National Rifle Association and St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. He was a former member of Knights of Columbus and Independent Insurance Agents Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Beulah A. Tscheulin; two sons, Charles R. Vernia of Clarksville and Barry L. Vernia of Corydon; three daughters, Sharlah A. Green of Willingboro, N.J., Denise Vernia of Burlington, N.J., and Leah Vernia-Amend of Terrell, Texas; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was Friday, April 5, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
