Barry L. Conrad

Barry L. Conrad, 52, Louisville, formerly of Marengo, died at 10:38 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Norton Suburban Hospital.
A native of New Albany, born Dec. 11, 1949, he was the son of the late Floyd and Evelyn Schwab Conrad.
He was a plumber for Stemler Plumbing of Jeffersonville, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at Charlestown and the Charlestown Jaycees.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, the former Novella Bowman; a son, Robert Conrad of New Albany; two daughters, Jody Conrad of Clarksville and Krystal Conrad of Charlestown; three stepdaughters, Angell Slucher and Dee-Dee Evers, both of Louisville, and Rachel Smyrichinsky of Laconia; a brother, John Conrad of Marengo; two sisters, Patty Main and Brenda Pearson, both of Marengo; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral was Monday, March 25, at Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo with burial in Marengo Cemetery. The Rev. Carrol Medley officiated.
Military rites were performed at the gravesite by Marengo American Legion.
