Amos Lockhart

Amos H. Lockhart, 94, Georgetown, died Sunday, March 24, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Honaker, Va., born Jan. 9, 1908, he was the son of the late John P. and Eliza Thompson Lockhart.
He was a retired engineer for the old K & I Railroad in New Albany and a member of Community First Church of God in Georgetown.
Survivors include four sons, Carlin Lockhart of Indianapolis, Nelson Lockhart of Louisville and the Rev. Leland and Samuel Lockhart, both of New Albany; five daughters, Sue Camm of New Albany, Phyllis Rhodes of Sellersburg, and Gloria Dunn, Kathy Carter and Debbie TreVree, all of Georgetown; 29 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral was Wednesday, March 27, at Georgetown Community Church of God with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery. Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown handled the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial gifts to his church.
