Rosenbaum first at state swimming meet

Hannah Rosenbaum, 10, Corydon, swam a personal best and captured first place in the 200 freestyle event in the Indiana Age Group State Meet in Indianapolis on March 15-17.
Rosenbaum clocked a time of 2:16.86 for the win. She went on and placed third in both the 100 free and 200 individual medley with personal best time of 1:03.74 and 2:35.98, respectively.
She competed in the 50 breaststroke and was fifth in 38.55 and was 10th in the 50 free with a 29.68. Both were personal bests.
In the points standings for girls 10 and under, Rosenbaum was fourth overall with 74 points scored.
She also swam on two relay teams with fellow River Side Aquatic Club teammates Sally Hall of Ramsey, Katelyn Cato and Shelby Weathers.
The girls finished seventh in the 100 freestyle relay and 10th in the medley relay.
Other local swimmers competing in the state event were Janelle Nassim (Georgetown), Nathan Ettinger (Corydon) and Jake Gayheart (Lanesville).
Nassim was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:08.04 and 16th in the 200 breaststroke.
Gayheart wound up 12th in the 200 freestyle relay with teammates Zacharia Litzleswope, Henry Wadsworth and Andrew Cato.
Ettinger was 17th n the 50 freestyle, 20th in the 100 fly and 57th overall in the 200 individual medley.
Nassim was 42nd in the 100 fly in a time of 1:06.35.
