Wallace Farnsley
Wallace Von (Polly) Farnsley, 82, Elizabeth, died Thursday, March 14, at his home.
He was a retired employee of Dupont in Louisville, an Army veteran of World War II, a Kentucky Colonel and former Democrat committeeman for Posey Township. He was a member of 40 & 8 in New Albany, Tri-County Shrine Club in Clarksville, Scottish Rite in Evansville and Hadi Temple in Indianapolis.
He was a lifetime member and past commander of VFW in Corydon, Loyal Order of Moose in Sellersburg and Pisgah Masonic Lodge in Corydon, and attended Elizabeth Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Gary Ray Farnsley of Elizabeth; a daughter, Viola Case of Elizabeth; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Sunday, March 17, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Goodwin officiated. Military rites were performed at the gravesite by American Legion Hornickel Post.
Pallbearers were Ryan Farnsley, Bryan, Gary and Perry Jr. Case, Eddie Wate and Michael Hecht. Cyrus Martin was an honorary pallbearer.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Hospice of Southern Indiana.
