Lewis Baker Byrne, 76, Phoenix, formerly of New Salisbury, died Friday, Feb. 1, at Banner Hospice House in Glendale, Ariz.
A native of New Salisbury, born Sept. 13, 1925, he was the son of the late Sherman and Pachen Byrne.
He was a retired janitor at Cortest High School for 24 years.
Survivors include four sons, Bobby, Benny, Brent and Ricky Byrne, all of Phoenix; a daughter, Ima Rutzer of Phoenix; three brothers, James Byrne of Land of Lakes, Fla., Marvin Byrne of Vidalia, Ga., and David Byrne of Illinois; two sisters, Bettie DeVore Kerr of Corydon and Dorothy Tracy of Lawton, Okla.; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be in Phoenix. Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon handled local arrangements.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hospice.
