Betty Rose Atkins Goldman, 50, of Depauw, wife of Commissioner James Goldman, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 4:35 p.m. at home following a valiant 10-year battle with cancer.
A native of Crawford County, she was born May 16, 1951.
She was formerly a secretary at North Harrison Upper Elementary School, a member of Christians Missionary Church, New Salisbury, and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Olive Atkins, her brother, Richard, and a grandchild.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jaime Rennirt of Depauw, a son, Jared Goldman of Ramsey, two sisters, Sandy Markwell of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Debra Atwood of Marengo and four grandchildren.
The funeral was Friday, Jan. 25, at Swarens Funeral Home with burial in Loudon Chapel Cemetery at Depauw. The Rev. Morris Larimore officiated.
