The Rev. Howard Lane
The Rev. Howard Lane, 87, English, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the V.A. Medical Center in Louisville
A native of Crawford County, born Feb. 5, 1914, he was the son of the late John R. and Fannie Rhodimal Lane.
He was a retired mechanic, a retired Wesleyan minister and a retired employee of E.I. Dupont in Charlestown. He was a member of English Wesleyan Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Lee Hamm, five brothers, Oscar, Jerome, Willie, Herbert and Rex Lane, and three sisters, Wyoma Wright, Mary Atkins and Madge Lane.
Survivors include his wife, the former Olive Hammond; two sons, Jim Lane of Lanesville and Bobby H. Lane of English; a daughter, Opal Jean Enlow of Ramsey; three brothers, Clyde Lane of English, Wheller Lane of Taswell and Dallas Lane of Phoenix; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Saturday, Jan. 7, at Mifflin Community Church with burial in Mifflin Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Mills officiated. Denbo Funeral Home in English handled the arrangements.
