Ralph Armstrong

Ralph Owen Armstrong, 89, Indianapolis, formerly of Salem, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 3:25 a.m. at Heritage House of Salem.
A native of Fredericksburg, born Sept. 14, 1912, he was the son of the late Beacham and Stella M. Bowers Armstrong.
He was a farmer and owned the old Armstrong’s Sealtest Milk Distributor in Salem before retiring in 1974 after 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Thelma Gilland, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Robert Armstrong of New Salisbury; a daughter, Evelyn Sandlin of Greenwood; a brother, Harold Armstrong of Jeffersonville; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was Thursday, Dec. 27, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem. Brother Toney McCutcheon officiated. Dawalt Funeral Home in Salem handled the arrangements.
