Kirk A. Miller Jr.

A 21-year-old English man died late Thursday in Floyds Knobs following a one-vehicle accident.
Kirk A. Miller Jr., a native of New Albany, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck on Moser Knob Road at 10:50 p.m., according to a report from Floyd County Sheriff’s Dept. Communications Officer Charlie Scott.
Scott said that Miller had been traveling eastbound in a silver 2001 Ford F150 pickup when his vehicle apparently left the roadway on the left side, striking several trees before coming to rest in a field.
Miller was not wearing a seat belt and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident.
Scott said the cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Dept., which is being assisted by the Indiana State Police.
Miller was an employee of Ford Motor Co. in Louisville and a member of UAW Local 826 in Louisville.
Survivors include his parents, Kirk Sr. and Debbi Miller of English; a sister, Jennifer Griffin of New Salisbury; his fiance, Amanda Lockman of Floyds Knobs; and his grandparents, Joyce Brown of Salem and Jolene Perkins of Georgetown.
The funeral was Monday, Dec. 31, at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
