Herbert Charles Schueler, 75, Owensboro, Ky., died Saturday, Dec. 29, at his home.
He was a native of Lanesville, a manager at Arvin Industries in Columbus and Princetown, Ky., where he worked 37-1/2 years, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus in Owensboro, Princetown and Columbus (40 years, and a financial secretary in Princeton), Kiwanis in Princeton, Catholic Men’s Club in Columbus, and a disabled Arm veteran of World War II where he served with 17 Airborne.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, the former Mary Catherine Fessel; five sons, Thomas Schueler of Windsor, Colo., Robert Schueler of Painesville, Ohio, Daniel Schueler of Lexington, Ky., Gary Schueler of Jasper and John Schueler of Owensboro; a daughter, Donna Schueler Murphy of Owensboro; two brothers, Francis Schueler of Lanesville and George Schueler of Corydon; two sisters, Mary Louise Litch of New Albany and Bernice Barr of Floyds Knobs; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral was Sunday, Dec. 30, at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro with burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Lourdes TV Ministry in care of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or to the Hospice Association.
