Ronald Bogard Jr.

A Pekin man was fatally injured about 10 a.m. last Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash on S.R. 64, east of Georgetown near Knob View Golf Club.
Ronald Bogard Jr., 31, was alone traveling westbound in his 1984 Chevy pickup when the passenger’s side tires left the road and struck a drain culvert and grass hillside, sending the vehicle into the air, according to a report filed by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Dept.
The truck rolled when it hit the ground, ejecting Bogard and coming to rest on its roof on the road. Speed may have been a factor, police said.
Bogard was transported by STATCARE air ambulance to University of Louisville Hospital, where he died from multiple head and internal injuries.
A native of Corydon, he was the son of Ronald Sr. and Sharon Rutherford Bogard of Pekin.
He was employed with Oak Tree Contracting of Palmyra as a drywall finisher.
Survivors besides his parents include his wife, the former Christiana Wilson; a son, Jesse Bogard, and a daughter, Samantha Bogard, both at home.
The funeral was Saturday, Dec. 8, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Bradford.
