Cloyd Sturgeon
Cloyd Sturgeon, 86, New Albany, died Monday, Dec. 3, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Carroll County, Ky., he was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post #28 and 40 & 8 #1250, both in New Albany, and 40 & 8 #217 of Fulton County Georgia Voiture and former administrator of the Scholarship for Nurses Training for New Albany 40 & 8. He retired from the United Association of Pipefitters Local 522 in Louisville after 56 years.
Survivors include a son, H.W. Woods of Floyds Knobs; a daughter Jean Jenkins of Louisville; a twin brother, Lloyd Sturgeon of New Albany; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was at Mullineaux Chapel, Pyke-Calloway Funeral Service in New Albany.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the 40 & 8 Nurses Training Fund in care of the funeral home.
