Samuel H. McClure, 81, Leavenworth, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth.
A native of LaVilla, Iowa, born June 11, 1920, he was the son of the late Leroy and Ida Robertson McClure.
He was a retired employee for General Electric Co. in Louisville and an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Omer and Glennis McClure.
Survivors include his wife, the former Kathryn Johnson; five sons, Larry, James, Dennis and Leroy Lynch, all of Leavenworth, and Glen Stott of Louisville; four daughters, Evelyn Cochran and Alice Ungemah, both of Leavenworth, Barbara Stonecipher of Corydon and Cindy Jordan of Louisville; six brothers, Sherrod McClure of Kokomo, Ross McClure of Chapmans Boro, Tenn., Ellis McClure of Corydon, Arthur McClure of Marengo, Keith McClure of Charlestown and Weldon McClure of Jeffersonville; two sisters, Leah Cox of New Albany and Eva Smith of California; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Saturday, Nov. 24, at Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown with burial in Fredonia Cemetery. The Rev. Philo Jones officiated.
