John P. King

John Patrick King, 37, Brownsburg, died Sunday, Nov. 11, in Indianapolis.
He was a national sales manager for Nachi America Inc. for four months and previously worked for Valenite Inc. for 10 years, and was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church.
He was a 1983 graduate of Brownsburg High School, a 1988 graduate of Purdue University and a 1998 graduate of Butler University.
He was an IHSAA licensed (certified and professional) football official from 1983 to 1990 and 1993 to present, Michigan HSAA 1991-1992 multiple sectional and regional level tournament assignments, and Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference staff official from 1996 to present.
He spent 17 years as a high school football official and high school tournament official and six years as an NCAA football official.
Other memberships included Indiana High School Athletic Association, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Official Association, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Official Association, Mid-States Football Officials Association and was a 15-year member of the Indiana Officials Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Stephanie K. Bloomer; a son, Patrick C. King of Brownsburg; his parents, Frank and Jeane Christley King of Lizton (Jeane is formerly of Corydon); and a brother, Tom King of Chicago.
The funeral was Thursday, Nov. 15, at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg with burial in St. Malachy Cemetery. Conkle Funeral Home in Avon handled the arrangements.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Patrick King Trust Fund in care of Bill Krohne, 2675 S. Parkfield Dr., New Palestine, IN 46163.
