John W. Anderson, 55, New Albany, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 3, at his home.
A native of Laconia, he was a captain for the Louisville Fire Dept., an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of Hornickel Post American Legion in Elizabeth, VFW Post 3281 in New Albany, American Rabbit Breeders Association, Southern Indiana Rabbit Breeders Association, Kentucky State Rabbit Breeders Association and Indiana State Rabbit Breeders Association. He was also a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Patti Thomas; a daughter, Amber Anderson of New Albany; two sons, Tom and Sean Anderson, at home; a stepdaughter, Robin Cooper of Corydon; his mother, Mary Anderson of Laconia; a brother, Eddie Anderson of Laconia; three sisters, Mary Jean Knear of Elizabeth, and Paula Hensley and Jane Caudill, both of Laconia; and two grandchildren.
The funeral was Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Rehoboth Cemetery. The Rev. Frank Hanier and Chaplain Barry Brandon officiated.
Pallbearers were Rodney Miller, Billy Baelz, Ronald Knear, Terry Deatrick, Brian Cooper and John Turner.
