Ralph L. Pitman

Ralph L. Pitman, 84, Corydon, died Sunday, Oct. 21, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Harrison County, born Sept. 16, 1917, he was the son of the late Jesse O. and Elsie M. Watson Pitman.
He was a retired welder at Jeffboat Co., a retired farmer, and a member of Central Christian Church and Harrison County Farm Bureau. He was a former school teacher and a graduate of Danville Community College.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Pitman; a brother, Robert Pitman, and four sisters, Mary Shaffer, Jean Willis, Faye Barks, and Olivia Faith, who died Friday.
Survivors include his wife, the former M. Louise Bliss; a daughter, Patricia Deaton of Central; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Thursday, Oct. 25, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Garriott officiated. Jean Hess was organist.
Pallbearers were Howard D. Faith, Brent and Charles Shaffer, Ralph and Joe Bliss and Bruce Martin.
