Eugene J. Albers

Eugene J. Albers, 76, Corydon, died Saturday morning, Oct. 13, at his home.
A native of Covington, Ky., he was a retired employee of Jeffboat in Jeffersonville and the old Naval Ordnance in Louisville. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville, Harrison County Council of Knights of Columbus and the Naval Ordnance Retirees Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Virginia Byers; six sons, Greg and Kevin Albers, both of Corydon, Stephen Albers of Salt Lake City, Utah, John Albers of Princeton, Ky., Jeffrey Albers of Willis, Mich., and Michael R. Albers of New Albany; two daughters, Judith Ann Kilgore of Boston and Deborah J. Albers of New Albany; a brother, Ralph Albers of Falls Church, Va.; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Tuesday, Oct. 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Father Wilfred Day officiated.
Pallbearers were his sons.
