Melvin Jones, 88, Milltown, died Saturday, Oct. 6, at Walnut Creek at Corydon.
A native of Milltown, born Jan. 23, 1913, he was the son of the late Thad and Mae Denton Jones.
He was a farmer, a retired employee of Jeffboat in Jeffersonville, and a member of Milltown Christian Church, Milltown Masonic Lodge 661 F&AM, and Scottish Rite Valley of Evansville.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Jones; two sons, Clayton Jones of Depauw and Terry Jones of Milltown; two daughters, Rose Mary Ponder of Palmyra and Alice Mae Rothrock of Milltown; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Sunday, Oct. 7, at Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery. Brothers Jim McDonald and Rick Utz officiated. Chris Brown was organist.
Pallbearers were Danny, Lyndon, Matt and Robert Jones, John Lambert, Terry Moraan and David Rothrock.
