Kiren J. Best

Kiren J. (Bob) Best, 82, Floyds Knobs, died Friday, Oct. 5.
A native of Floyds Knobs, he was a Navy veteran of World War II and president of the old C.H. Best and Sons Hardwood Lumber Co. in Floyds Knobs. He was a member of the American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28 in New Albany and St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Marybel Murphy.
Survivors include a son, Charles H. Best of Louisville; a daughter, Mary Helen Scott of Floyds Knobs; two brothers, Charles Best of Melbourne, Fla., and Arthur Best of Floyds Knobs; three sisters, Sister Rachel Best of Newburg, Margaret Huber of Floyds Knobs and Rose Lang of Bradenton, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
A Mass was held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Kraft/Royse Generations Funeral home in New Albany handled the arrangements.
