Schoen picks Lipscomb U.

South Central senior basketball star Craig Schoen can relax a little more on the hardwood after he verbally committed last week to play at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Schoen, a 5-11 guard who played on the Junior All-star team last year, made the decision after weighing offers from Weber State, Austin Peay and several other colleges.
The Bisons, which finished 21-7 last year, are opening a state-of-the-art, 5,028-seat arena this season.
Lipscomb will be playing a full NCAA Division I schedule (including Butler, Mississippi and Tulane) in the 2001-2002 season and will be in the third year of a four-year provisional membership period. The Bisons will compete as an NCAA independant school.
Charlie Jenney of Floyd Central has also commited to play for Lipscomb.
