Goldie Summers

Goldie M. Cox Summers, 67, Leavenworth, died Thursday, Aug. 23, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
A native of Carrett, Ky., born Oct. 20, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Bee and Rhoda Handshoe Cox.
She was a homemaker and a member of Alton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Summers.
Survivors include a son, Gary L. Summers of Leavenworth; a daughter, Janet F. Gentry of Floyds Knobs; a brother, Norman Cox of Leavenworth; two sisters, Lola M. Jenkins of Fredericksburg and Bertha DeBell of Coxs Creek, Ky.; and five grandchildren.
The funeral was Saturday, Aug. 25, at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey with burial in Memorial Gardens in Leavenworth. The Rev. Gary Arnold officiated. Music was by Vera Wallbrown, and Neomi and Annette Culbertson.
Pallbearers were Brandon Gentry, Michael Summers, Steven DeBell, Jeff Cox, Dale Jenkins and Darrell W. Cox.
