Donald E. Harper

Donald E. (Jabe) Harper, 72, Corydon, died Thursday, Aug. 23, at his home.
A native of Corydon, born July 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Cecil and Effie Kiger Harper.
He was a former foreman for Saulman Brothers Tree Trimming Co. in Corydon and a former employee of the Corydon Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Catha Bostic; three stepsons, Jerry Scudder of Westport, Tom Scudder of Shelbyville and Jim Scudder of Indianapolis; three stepdaughters, Linda Sandefur of Greensburg, Nancy Conner of St. Paul and Judie Anderson of Westport; a brother, Jack Harper of Crandall; a sister, Janice Gresham of Sandusky, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Sunday, Aug. 26, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pastor Aaron Striegel officiated. Jean Hess was organist. Geraldine Baxley Watson was vocalist.
Pallbearers were Jim, Kenny and Paul Saulman, Jerry and Tom Scudder, and Fred Conner.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hospice of Southern Indiana.
