Tom D. Tower

Tom D. Tower, 85, Leavenworth, died Monday, Aug. 13, at Todd-Dickey Medical Center in Leavenworth.
A native of Leavenworth, born July 30, 1916, he was the son of the late C.D. and Edna Stephenson Tower.
He was president of Tower Orchards Inc. in Leavenworth, a farmer, and was active in the Orchard since 1942.
He was a former Crawford County Community School Corp. board member and former treasurer for the building corporation for the Crawford County Junior-Senior High School. He was a member of Leavenworth Community Presbyterian Church, Leavenworth Masonic Lodge 188, Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of the Crawford County Saddle Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Janice Spencer; five sons, T. Joe Tower of Clarksville, Mike Tower of Chrisney, Chuck Tower of Lanesville, and Jim and Bill Stonecipher, both of New Salisbury; two daughters, Sue Stilger of Conyers, Ga., and Rella Totten of Madison; two brothers, John and Paul Tower, both of Leavenworth; four sisters, Dorothy Ewing of Michigan City, Ruth Reschar of Palmetto, Fla., and Margaret Booth and Helen Ridge, both of Leavenworth; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Leavenworth Community Presbyterian Church with burial in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Mark McDaniel officiated.
