Roger G. Baylor

Roger G. Baylor, 76, Georgetown, died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
He retired from the Old Purity Maid, Boman and Dean Dairies in New Albany, and was an electrician for Pierce Electric in Georgetown and a school bus driver for the Floyd County School Corp. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and Korea, a member of VFW in New Albany, a charter member of Georgetown Optimist Cub and the National Rifle Association. He was also a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, the former Bettye Allen; a son, Roger Allen Baylor of New Albany; and four sisters, Virginia Barry of Sellersburg, Dorothy Webber of Atlanta, Ga., and Evelyn Nelson and Joan Howard, both of Georgetown.
A memorial service was Sunday, July 29, at the Georgetown Optimist Club. Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown handled the arrangements.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Georgetown Optimists, World War II Memorial in Washington or to the Crusade for Children.
