Donald F. Abner
Donald Frank Abner, 52, Marengo, formerly of Georgetown, died Monday, July 2, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
A native of Paris, Ky., born Oct. 7, 1948, he was the son of Allie Alice Jarrell Abner of Georgetown and the late John Abner Jr.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a truck driver for Youngblood. A truck driver for 25 years, he was also a member of the One Million Mile, Accident Free Club.
Survivors besides his mother include his wife, the former Betsy Waid; a daughter, Michele Westerfield of Stamping Ground, Ky.; a brother, Paul Clayton Abner of Georgetown, Ky., and a sister, Opal Peavler of Owenton, Ky.
A graveside service was Friday, July 6, at Georgetown Cemetery. Brother Dwight Elam officiated. Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ky., handled the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Archie Barnes, Larry Covington, Jason Sams, Varyl Turner, Larry Adkins and Johnny Limon.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Muntz, Eric Westerfield, Ronnie Marcum, Al Brown and Steve Wise.
